At first glance, it is surprising that a company with a strong interest in the PBX world and operators would enter the PBX-free phone market. But really, no wonder: By adding a solution for the smallest phone system, Avaya can provide its customers with a complete upgrade path no matter how much it grows.

This is especially true now that Avaya single-X Quick Edition SIP phones will communicate with SIP-based PBXs and service providers. The phones, of course, manage all the activities on the PBX. As a result, you can use Quick Edition phones for a small office, and yet the system has become part of your business downstream.avaya ip pbx

 

Unfortunately, the upgrade required to run the phone with an external PBX was not complete at the time of my review, but a company spokesman said the feature would be available in July. Even without it, a single-device X system can already communicate with a business network, send messages to users via email, create a database with phone numbers and voicemail, and manage it as part of a group as well as individually.
