Technical skills
First,
you must have the technical skills required to install and troubleshoot Comcast
products. You'll need to know how to set up Comcast's home security, Internet,
and cable systems and get them up and running for the customer. Once everything
is set up, it will sometimes be necessary to educate the customer on how it
works and how to use the equipment. When a customer has problems, you will
provide the solutions by resetting the internet or cable as soon as possible.
You should have experience in wiring or wiring and be able to use and operate
computers and hand and power tools. Comcast offers new hires hands-on training,
helping technicians develop specific skills for its products.

As
a field communications technician, you will interact with customers on a daily
basis and must possess excellent written and oral communication skills. At a
customer's home or company, you are not just a technician; you are also a
customer service representative. Sometimes, you may come across customers who
are angry that their services aren't working and you will need to not only fix
the problem, but also deal with angry customers in the process. You usually
have a deadline to finish a job in a certain amount of time and you need to
have good time management skills and a strong ethics.
