Design / Method
We
used a mixed-series approach that began with interviews and focus groups with
165 participants and continued with a questionnaire distributed to over 2,500
engineering students and application engineers, both engaged and
non-participating. the engineering service. The studies included a qualitative
analysis based on variables and a number of linear regression models to compare
technical and professional skills.
Results
Quantitative
results show that engineers involved in and not involved in the engineering
service report similar technical skills, and those involved in the engineering
service statement of professional skills seen as significantly higher, even
when controlling age, gender, and average age. ranking. Qualitative results
indicate that higher professional skills can be developed as a result of real,
complex and contextualised learning experiences within the functions of
engineering services.
