Architects
don't spend all of their time at an office desk designing places for people to
live or work. Architects need to be creative artists and knowledgeable about
engineering principles. They need this knowledge along with social skills to
discuss ideas with clients and project managers. Architects work closely with
customers and engineers to meet customer needs and engineering requirements.
When drawing up construction plans, they will need to be proficient in the use
of Computer-Aided Design and Draft (CADD) software.
As
an architect, you will consider aesthetic, economic, environmental and
functional aspects when designing buildings and other structures. The table
below provides an overview of the requirements for working as an architect.
