This path often leads to an administration / engineering position, setting the framework for the technician to become a specific administrator (perhaps in return, SQL, IIS, SharePoint, etc.) before deviating to an administration role. or expert in a subject. . to Citrix, VMWare or others.
Climbing the ladder in such a strategic way is a sure
indicator for potential employers that the IT professional has both the drive
and the ability to take on new challenges, while people who get stuck in the
lower rungs are not fit to do the same - even this is not so in reality.
